U.S. military history artwork featuring a battle scene from Hero Land, a World War One fund-raising event held at Grand Central Palace in New York from November 24, 1917, to December 12, 1917. As per an advertisement in the New York Times, it was a 16-day military pageant which was also inclusive of theatrical entertainment and oriental wonderland, not to mention the charity mart, and the objective was to familiarize the American people with the actualities of warfare. Original artwork by J. Carl Mueller.
