This research group works to identify chemical compounds with the potential to be used as drugs. In 2015, it was announced that they have identified a new drug to treat malaria. The work was carried out in collaboration with the Medicine for Malaria Venture (MMV). Malaria is caused by a parasite transmitted into the bloodstream by mosquito bites.
