Paolo Veronese was an Italian Renaissance painter and one of the leading masters of the Venetian School. Born in Verona and later based in Venice, he became celebrated for his grand-scale religious and mythological scenes, which are distinguished by luminous color, elaborate architecture, richly dressed figures, and theatrical compositions. Veronese’s style is particularly recognizable for its vibrant palette, sophisticated use of light, and ability to create a sense of opulence and movement within expansive scenes. Drawing inspiration from classical art and the grandeur of Renaissance Venice, his paintings combine detailed observation with an idealized, celebratory vision of the world, making him one of the most influential colorists of the late Renaissance.
