Eye. Artwork of the front (anterior) part of a human eyeball. The eye is the organ of sight. Most of the focusing of light is done by the cornea (white, centre left). The light passes through the pupil, a hole in the iris (brown), and is further focused by the lens (centre). Light falls on the retina (not seen) which relays information to the brain. The iris can expand and contract to alter the amount of light entering the eye. The lens is held in place by thin fibres known as zonule fibres, which extend from the ciliary body (pink, top left and bottom right) surrounding the iris. The channel running from the lens to upper right is the hyaloid canal.
