Katsushika Hokusai was a master of the Japanese woodblock style, a delicate and exact process where each color in the print is carved separately. He was well known even in his time for his stunning depictions of Japanese landmarks. His work's have stood the test of time as nowadays his paintings are used to teach a variety of courses. Not only that, but his depiction of being able to capture the moment and freeze time by putting it on canvas is second to none. From capturing volcanoes, mountains, and blossoms he is able to blend all aspects of his surroundings to birth a unique work of art.
