La nascita di questo complesso .. strettamente legata al nome d Kusam ibn Abbas, cugino di Maometto, che si dice abbia portato l'islam in questa regione e che fu proclamato santo islamico e protettore di Samarcanda nei secoli X-XI. In questo importante luogo di pellegrinaggio, a parte la sua tomba e poche altre, il complesso .. occupato dalla famiglia e dai conoscenti di Tamerlano e di Ulughbek.</p>
