<p>US 6888th battalion marching during a Joan of Arc parade in Rouen, France on the 27th of May 1945. The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion were the first female, all African-American battalion to do overseas service during the Second World War. The battalion were sent to sort through backlogs of mail sent to overseas officers and ensure it was delivered to them.</p>
