The Roosevelt Arch, Montana, Yellowstone National Park

Item # 2214603

Tom Murphy

The Roosevelt Arch, Gardiner, Montana, in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States of America. The Roosevelt Arch was built from rough blocks of columnar basalt, which were quarried near the water tower in Gardiner, Montana, It was dedicated by President Theodore Roosevelt in April 1903 and finished shortly thereafter. For 100 years now it has stood and welcomed the world to the first National Park and to one of the finest areas of wild land remaining on this continent. The arch with the rich rainbow glowing beyond the glistening wet rock, symbolizes for me that a paradise still awaits visitors in Yellowstone.
