<p>Kathryn Beals is a self-taught Canadian artist and former forester from British Columbia working in Canada and California. Her artwork is influenced by her home, her travels, and her former career. Beals combines acrylic paint pours, metal leaf, and resin to create beautiful abstract paintings reminiscent of the world around her. From stones to aerial photos to galaxies, Beals' fluid abstracts all look like something in nature. She also attributes the color and movement in her paintings to her synesthesia and migraine auras. These conditions have shaped the way Beals sees the world, and have enhanced her development as an artist.</p>
