<p>St. Ignace, Michigan: Just A few More Feet. Only a few more feet to go and this stiffening truss unit will take its permanent place in the huge Mackinac Bridge. This phase of the work is expected to be completed during the latter part of this month--weather permitting, the suspended roadway will assume its final shape after all the stiffening trusses have been raised. At the bridge's center point motorists will see the beautiful straits area from an elevation of about 185 feet above the water.</p>
