<p>A California native, Michael is an acclaimed landscape and seascape photographer who uses some of the same tools and post-production techniques as matte painters and concept artists at today's movie studios. Through his dramatic and impressionistic works, Michael aims to share the beauty of the California coastline.</p>
<p>Rays from the setting sun light up the sky and shine a spotlight through the famed "Keyhole" rock formation on Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur. Some of the sand on this beach is purple in color, caused by the erosion of manganese garnet rocks in the cliffs above the beach.</p>
