Item # 1410978

Francis Leroy

Human tooth anatomy. Diagram showing the anatomical layout of human teeth within the jaw. The same set of teeth are seen on both the left-hand and right-hand side of the mouth. From back to front, the teeth are: the third molar, second molar and first molar; then the second premolar and first premolar; then the canine tooth; followed by two incisors. This gives a total of 16 teeth in the lower jaw and 16 in the upper jaw, for a total of 32 permanent adult teeth. Molars and premolars are used for chewing, canines and incisors for biting. The third molars are also called the wisdom teeth.
