Left above is \A Naturalist's and Traveller's Companion\ by John Coakley Lettsom (1799 third edition) and right (open) is \Instructions for Collecting and Preserving various subjects of Natural History\ by E. Donovan (1794). Donovan's work also gives instruction for how to keep insects in captivity to rear the adult from larvae collected. Shown around them are various specimens and collectors apparatus suitable to the period.</p>
