<p>Carina Nebula pillar. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image of a three-light-year-long pillar of gas and dust within the Carina Nebula. The pillar is sculpted by radiation and streams of charged particles from hot, massive stars off the top of the image. In the pillar itself new stars are forming.
