Water pours from the antlers of a bull moose (Alces alces) lifting his head from Beaverdam Creek in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States of America. Moose are primarily browsers feeding on the stems, bark, and leaves of trees and shrubs. They also consume grasses, sedges, and aquatic plants, especially in summer. After sunset one July evening this bull was standing in a pool along Beaverdam Creek completely submerging his head to collect the aquatic plants on the bottom of the pond. When he pulled his head out of the water, he momentarily held his head still to let the water run off his head, eyes, and nose.
