<p>The new public library located at Grand Army Plaza (Eastern Parkway and Flatbush Avenue), has a dramatic entrance highlighted by columns on either side with sculptured gold-leaf figures created by Carl P. Jennewein depicting the evolution of art and science. Roscoe C.E. Brown, a member of the Board of Trustees at the time and later president of the Brooklyn Public Library, composed the inscriptions at the side and above the entrance doors.</p>
