<p>A California native, Michael is an acclaimed landscape and seascape photographer who uses some of the same tools and post-production techniques as matte painters and concept artists at today's movie studios. Through his dramatic and impressionistic works, Michael aims to share the beauty of the California coastline.</p>
<p>Following a storm, the waves in Big Sur can be big, powerful and explosive. Sometimes they pull up sand from the shallow waters and beach, adding earth tones to their white froth. Here, a trail above Garrapata Beach provides access to the wateros edge, where the sights, sounds and salty ocean air are exhilarating. The dance of the waves and the beautiful colors and movement of the water behind them complement the warmer tones of the path and surrounding area.</p>
