To the east of Anchorage are the snow-covered Chugach Mountains, part of the Pacific Coastal range. This 186-kilometre-wide image was taken on 26 August 1980, in visible and infrared wavelengths, with the Multispectral Scanner (MSS) sensor on a NASA Landsat satellite.</p>
