Born in Japan but currently living in France, Haruyo Morita is a contemporary artist who fuses Eastern and Western styles. She creates beautiful paintings and drawings of Japanese figures in kimonos in traditional settings. But beyond these subjects of focus, Morita’s works embody Zen philosophy and reveal the true meaning of being human beneath the surface. To create her art, Morita uses natural pigments and calligraphy ink. To inspire her work, Morita is also a practitioner of meditation and Reiki.
