<p>Theophile Alexandre Steinlen (1859-1923) Originally in the textile industry, Swiss born artist Theophile Alexandre Steinlen, moved to Paris where he began developing his skills as an artist. Steinlen's Art Nouveau style and poster work is associated most often with his infamous cat illustrations as seen in "Le Chat Noir". Steinlen's work includes ads featuring cabarets, and nightlife scenes to landscapes and everyday life.</p>
