Akiko Hiromoto

Hiromoto was born in Hokkaido, Japan. She finds inspiration in fabric patterns, weavings, found objects & images, and the unique color patterns she encounters during her travels and daily life. Her work is about the exploration of process and color. Hiromoto works through building up and scraping away paint to excavate the image within. Her canvas is a playground where she plays with the line qualities, arko-making, shapes and colors.
