Sharon Gordon creates abstract paintings inspired by the landscape surrounding her. She states, "I am and have always been completely captivated by places near or surrounded by water, especially the ocean. Experiencing a vista, particularly involving bodies of water, enhances the idea that an atmosphere can be an ever-changing, never-ending range of rhythm and volatility while remaining consistently whole." With her art, Gordon intends to evoke and "internal landscape," giving viewers the chance to transport themselves into a larger vista and recalling moments of time and space that they may have visited before.
