<p>James Montgomery Flagg (1877-1960) American Artist James Montgomery Flagg, created a cultural icon with his World War I propaganda poster, "I Want YOU for the U.S. Army". Flagg's career started at the young age of 12, when he was hired to do illustrations for St. Nicholas Magazine. He then went on to work as an illustrator for Life and Judge Magazines. Flagg, is known as one of the greatest contributing and highest paid American Illustrators of his time.</p>
