Spinosaurus

Item # 1151328

Joe Tucciarone

Spinosaurus dinosaur. Artwork of a Spinosaurus dinosaur. This carnivorous theropod dinosaur lived between 110 and 100 million years ago, in the early Cretaceous period. Its head resembled a crocodile, and Spinosaurus, with its straight conical teeth, is thought to have fed on fish. The \sail\ on its back could be nearly 2 metres high. It is thought to have allowed circulating blood to be warmed by the Sun, or to lose heat and allow cooling. Another theory is that the prominent sail could have been used in mating displays. Spinosaurus was a large theropod, reaching 10-12 metres in length.
